My child is going school for the very first time🌱
Dear Parents
In this week’s newsletter I want to talk about those early age toddlers who starts going school for the very first time.
My 3 year old son started his school journey this month. His face got printed on my main when he was crying his eyes out. Papa, I won’t go to school and what not.
Somehow I managed to get him inside the car along with his bag filled with all kinds of edible items, water bottle and an extra pair of clothes in case he wet himself.
Whole time he was crying at peak of his voice even after I dropped him off to his mother teacher.
Here comes the sad part, Your child doesn’t know what’s good or bad. He just knows his father left him alone among bunch of strangers and doesn’t know whether he will ever go back home at all.
I could saw the tears of joy on his terrified face when I went to pick him up from school.
It scares him hell out of him at his very soul. And what if he carries this fear all along.
The idea is never to force him too much that could push him off the edge but to approach him with balance of all emotions firmly face to face.
How to deal with it:
Be supportive to your child
Do not act in anger if your child to throwing tantrums
Be calm and firm while talking to your child by eye to eye
Be patient, your child will come around
Do not lower your guards and agree to not going to school, your child is grown enough to use all the tactics
Once they get to know that when I cry my parents will allow me not to go school, They will try to repeat it.
PS: After almost 2 weeks I left him at school with “NOT CRYING” face.
They will learn and acclimatise eventually.
Thanks for reading. Happy Parenting
