Treasure Chest
Dear Parents
We know parenting is hard specially when we want to do it right. We always get a user manual in the box if we buy even a hundred bucks gadget to operate it right but we get nothing when it comes to raise a baby.
We as parents always make decision for our kids and by doing so we don’t let develop the confidence of choosing or taking decision on their own in them.
We don’t know whether we are doing it right or nor, whether the signs they are showing are for good or not. Yes we hardly know.
But here is the thing upon reading and research we have the techniques to put our efforts in right direction.
Treasure Chest
Start at:
From 5 months till 3 years of age
Frequency:
2-3 times a week
Materials:
A flat basket
Some baby toys
Everyday sensorial objects
What to do:
Present baby with 7-8 everyday toys/objects clearly visible to them in a flat tray
Keep the area free of other toys
Let the baby explore as he wants without any guidance
Change item presented each time
Benefits:
Lets baby build focus over time without getting overstimulated in a cluttered environment
Encourage independent choice making
Tips:
Ideally give safe to mouth item for minimum intervention
Simple everyday toys work, don’t look for special toys
Few minutes of play is also good
Watch out for:
Baby should have sufficient hand control that he doesn’t drop items on his face while on their back
Parents to supervise all the time
Avoid all chocking or swallowing items
