Dear Parents
We know parenting is hard specially when we want to do it right. We always get a user manual in the box if we buy even a hundred bucks gadget to operate it right but we get nothing when it comes to raise a baby.
We don’t know whether we are doing it right or nor, whether the signs they are showing are for good or not. Yes we hardly know.
But here is the thing upon reading and research we have the techniques to put our efforts in right direction.
Gustatory and taste stimulus
Start at:
When baby is 12 months old or started eating
Frequency:
During meal times
Materials:
Sweets: Date syrup. jaggery, fruit, honey
Salty: Foods cooked with pinch of salt
Spicy: Food cooked with cinnamon or ginger
Sour: Lemon or tamarind
Bitter: Bitter gourd (karela), unsweetened chocolate
What to do:
Let them taste different food in small quantities and tell them the taste they supposed to feel
Benefits:
Develop gustatory sense in your baby
When they start identifying taste, it makes meal time more exiting
Help them develop superior tastes and expertise in food
Tips:
Use small quantities of food, as their taste buds are not developed and will overwhelmed them
Watch out for:
When feeding them taste of bitter and spicy, be specially careful to give them smallest quantity
Honey and salt are not given to babies younger than one
Please avoid foods that might be allergic to your baby
